Valerie Ackerman

​Valerie Ackerman is a native of Summerville, SC. A graduate of the College of Charleston with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Accounting. Early career in her career, Valerie worked for the Department of Defense as a governmental accountant at the Polaris Missile Facility Atlantic and later as an internal auditor the Naval Supply Center. 

She moved to Savannah in 1994. While in Savannah, she worked with a CPA as forensic accountant unraveling fraudulent acts perpetrated against local businesses. Upon moving to Kingsland, GA in 2000, Valerie worked with a non-profit setting up their accounting system in QuickBooks, formulating their budgets, and advising them in sound financial practices. 

​Valerie and her husband, John, moved back home to Summerville, SC in June of 2015 after a 21-year absence. They enjoy spending time with their three grown children and extended family.
